What is Microsoft Copilot?
Microsoft Copilot is an AI companion designed to support your day-to-day work and creativity. In practical terms, it helps you get clear answers, fresh ideas, and quick feedback so you can move faster on tasks like drafting content, exploring options, or clarifying complex topics.
Instead of being a standalone tool you have to learn from scratch, Copilot fits into how you already work and helps you rethink how you gather information, plan, and communicate.
How can Microsoft Copilot help me at work?
Microsoft Copilot is built to inform, entertain, and inspire, which translates into several practical use cases at work:
- **Inform:** Ask Copilot for straightforward explanations, summaries, or comparisons to quickly understand a topic or prepare for a meeting.
- **Inspire:** Use it to brainstorm ideas for campaigns, presentations, or product concepts when you need a fresh angle.
- **Entertain:** Lighten long days by asking for creative examples, stories, or alternative ways to present information.
- **Refine:** Get advice and feedback on drafts—emails, reports, or presentations—so you can improve clarity, tone, and structure.
By combining these capabilities, Copilot helps you reimagine how you research, plan, and communicate, without adding extra complexity to your workflow.
How do I get started with Microsoft Copilot?
You can start using Microsoft Copilot right away by opening it in your browser and trying a few focused prompts. For example:
- Ask for a concise overview of a topic you’re working on.
- Paste a draft email or document and request feedback or a clearer version.
- Request a short list of ideas for a presentation, campaign, or internal update.
Begin with one or two real tasks from your day, then iterate based on the responses you get. This approach helps you gradually reshape how you work with information and content, while keeping control over the final output.
